HAPPY WEEKEND (AND SOME LINK LOVE!)

I can hardly believe it's mid-August this weekend. With all my travel I haven't really been able to appreciate summer at home yet...

I want to throw on a summer hat and doll myself up for weekends in the city... if only the sunshine would cooperate! I'm ready for some hot summer nights!

But in the meantime, I'll be working on finishing up my move (I'll have a house tour of the place on Monday!) and doing a ton of online shopping for all the pieces I need.

HAVE A LUSH LITTLE AWEEKEND...

The more I travel, the more I appreciate coming home to Seattle where even in the city things always feel lush and fresh - I suppose I should thank the rain for that? I'm happy that we'll be having blue skies all weekend, however, and I plan to take advantage of them as much as I can...

HAPPY (RUE) WEEKEND!

If you haven't noticed, I've been a little absent this week with the blog - I didn't realize how much traveling to LA and being a bigger part of our most recent issue of Rue would take a toll on my schedule! After a few days packed with work for the magazine, I spent a few more days running around LA with clients and meeting up with some of my favorite bloggers! I'll have a full report on that next week. Until then... some of my favorites from this issue...




Yesterday, I landed in San Francisco for the weekend and am happy to be back on my laptop and enjoying some downtime before heading to Las Vegas next week for market! Looking forward to a weekend in one of my favorite cities! What's on your agenda? I hope it includes checking out Rue Issue #6 if you haven't already! And I hope to see some of you in Vegas next week too!

I LOVE LA (AND HAPPY WEEKEND!)

I arrived 'home' in LA yesterday afternoon and it feels so good to be back in my city! While I'll be hard at work the next few days, I hope I'll get a chance to enjoy some sunshine and palm trees soon...

I know many of you are melting in the rest of the country, so stay cool and try to enjoy the summer while we've got one!

HAPPY (MORE SUNSHINE PLEASE) WEEKEND!

After melting my way through two weeks of Mediterranean heat (and attempting to look quite glamorous while doing it), I brought back with me one of the best tans I've had in years...

So the rest of the summer will be spent attempting to keep it up! Gotta love a healthy summer glow...

I'll definitely be scheduling in some sunshine lounging this weekend in between work catchup and apartment hunting! It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.

HAPPY (4TH OF JULY) WEEKEND!

It's time to pull some stars and stripes out of the closet this weekend...


Well, maybe mostly just stripes, but aren't we lucky that there's no shortage of classic Americana style right now to help us through this holiday weekend?

HAPPY (FLAUNT YOUR FLORALS) WEEKEND!

While we've had fairly comfortable temps here in northwest, I know the rest of the country has pretty much been melting this week...

Well, guess what? It's the weekend! So rid yourself of the workweek wardrobe, throw on a sheer, flowing, flowery dress and embrace the sunshine!

And have a little extra fun while you're at it. Dancing on tables? You can totally blame it on the heat.

Or better yet - get thee to the beach!

While I'll be running around getting ready for my trip, it won't be long until I'm enjoying some sunny beaches of my own. Have a fabulous weekend however you decide to beat the heat!

HAPPY WEEKEND...

The temperatures are slowly rising around here... I think it's time for me to perfect my 'almost summer' style...

A Panama hat will be required. As will white-on-white... the jacket only necessary for the cooler evenings...

I can't wait to host my first outdoor dinner party of the season... must get the patio in entertaining mode!

And I'll definitely be adding some high shine accessories to the white-on-white look for a beachy glam vibe. What are your must haves for this summer??

HAPPY HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

Here in the states, we're looking forward to a long holiday weekend that usually signifies the beginning of summer...



In Seattle, however, summer arrives the day after the 4th of July (no seriously... it kinda does), so I'm indulging in my this sunshine filled fantasy and crossing fingers for our temps to get above 65 this weekend!

HAPPY (CLOWNIN' AROUND) WEEKEND!

I think a whole week of sunshine has officially gone to my head...


I am giddy with the weather (and life!) at the moment! While I still have piles of work facing me for the weekend, you better believe I'm going to take some time to sip a bit of champagne on the patio, soak in these beautiful days, and get a little bit silly.

Ahhh, Friday. I thought you'd never come! It's been a long week balancing travel and deadlines, and I'm looking forward to a fairly quiet little weekend...

Before I get to unpacking and weekend chores, I think a little sleeping in will be in order.

After that? I'm looking forward to some one-on-one time with a few very important ladies in my life! Setting the table for hours of conversation and catching up.

And, while I'm at it I'll do my best to put on some rose-colored glasses and make it a very happy little weekend! I wish the same to you!

HAPPY (FAMIGLIA) WEEKEND

Millions of us will be celebrating our mothers and, subsequently, our families this weekend...

It's been an interesting past few years for me watching more of my friends become mothers themselves. It's such a beautiful bond that I can't wait to hopefully have with my own family someday.

But what it's made me realize even more is how much mothers do, how much they give of themselves, how much they keep it together, day after day.

I'm so proud of all my friends who have grown (some instantly, some with more challenge) into the amazing mothers that they are.

And of course I'm so, so grateful for my own sweet mama who continues to drive me crazy with her constant questions, fill me up with her hugs, and surprise me with her unending support.

Don't forget to treat all the mamas in your life like queens this weekend! And to all of you mamas out there - a very Happy Mother's Day to you!
