VACATION BRAIN

I love this editorial... it reminds me of summer camp lodging and steamy languid days...


Not to mention the hotels I stayed in the last time I was in Italy (in college!).

Forgive me a little absence the rest of this week as I prep my suitcase, wrap up projects and get ready for a little escape. My lovely contributors will be picking up the slack a bit (but don't worry... I'm not gone yet!)

HAPPY (FAMIGLIA) WEEKEND

Millions of us will be celebrating our mothers and, subsequently, our families this weekend...

It's been an interesting past few years for me watching more of my friends become mothers themselves. It's such a beautiful bond that I can't wait to hopefully have with my own family someday.

But what it's made me realize even more is how much mothers do, how much they give of themselves, how much they keep it together, day after day.

I'm so proud of all my friends who have grown (some instantly, some with more challenge) into the amazing mothers that they are.

And of course I'm so, so grateful for my own sweet mama who continues to drive me crazy with her constant questions, fill me up with her hugs, and surprise me with her unending support.

Don't forget to treat all the mamas in your life like queens this weekend! And to all of you mamas out there - a very Happy Mother's Day to you!

HAPPY (APRIL) WEEKEND!

My my... how do these months keep speeding by? April already??

Does that mean more sunshine and green trees in my life? I certainly hope so! If I'm lucky, I'll get my fill of it in North Carolina as I'm heading off to High Point Market today!


I'll be dashing from showroom to showroom, booth to booth, to take in all the new products and trends, and will (of course) share all my favorites with you! I have a feeling there will also be quite a few fun parties to attend...

It will no doubt be another whirlwind of a trip - I'll do my best to keep up around here! Happy happy spring, and here's to the start of a new month!

GOOD MORNING, SPRINGTIME!

What's that I see? Sunshine? And the cherry blossoms are blooming?

Spring is here!! And, just in time I've caught myself a little spring fever. I guess that means I'll be sporting my floral prints in bed until this bug passes... but there's no way you're gonna wipe this smile off my face. Happy spring to ya'll!!

LOUNGIN'

Blogging at you live from a sunny little apartment in LA, dressed in my best PJ's...

While I'm enjoying a return to my more relaxed lifestyle (no need to be dressed at 7am!) I think I may take a cue from this stunning shoot and start investing in some fabulous loungewear so when the UPS guy knocks on my door, I'm at least somewhat presentable...

Layers of jewels  make all the difference... (even if they are a bit crazy)

But the hair? I'd have to hire a stylist for that. I think I'll be sticking with my simple topknot for now...

VINTAGE VENETIAN GETS FIERCE

Soft time worn walls and shutters in Venice create an inspiring palette...

To be translated into something way more fierce! The pops of color (brought in by the flowers in the first photo and accessories and makeup in the second) are essential to keeping the combination of antique green and terra cotta peach feeling updated and fresh.

HAPPY WEEKEND!

I'm so excited for this weekend, I'm not sure how I'm going to make it through the day! Tonight is our girls-only Christmas party, tomorrow a huge reunion with tons of friends from college for a Zags game, and Sunday decorating all day with the fam. It's got me feeling as vibrant as this fabulous editorial...


I want to cozy into some sassy winter wear and hit the town! (Might just keep the pants on though... at least until I get home!)


Time to don some gay apparel and get outta here to celebrate the season... bling required.

HAPPY (HAUTE TO SHOP) WEEKEND!

Ok, seriously... I cannot wait a second more to have it officially be the holidays around here, so I'm kicking it of this weekend! I'll be shopping up a storm (one for me, two for you...)


I have a few holiday parties to attend, so I'll be picking up some fabulous heels along with some Christmas presents... and I may even be inspired to do a little leopard print!



Of course the tried and true recipe for a successful holiday ensemble will always be black + sparkle for me... do you have any fun or fabulous fetes planned yet? My first is in two weeks... counting down!

Woo hoo! It's the weekend! Time to kick up your heels...

Which pretty much looks something like this to me these days.

Was is just me or was this week exhausting?? Blame it on the darkness creeping in earlier and the 40-something temps in Seattle, but all I want to do is change out of my fancies and into some comfies to nestle in for the weekend...

If I can even pull myself out of this chair!

HAPPY (CATCHING UP) WEEKEND!

It's going to be a weekend of playing catchup for me... and yes that will include loads of laundry amongst other things...


I think I'll cozy into a fabulous fall sweater and skirt just to make chores around the house a little more fun...

Luckily tonight I have an excuse to get out of the house and dress up a little! It's my bestie's birthday next week and we're celebrating with a little get together this evening...

There may or may not be feathers involved, but there sure as heck will be champagne!
